Frequently Asked Questions
Who are The Navigators®?
The Navigators® is an international, interdenominational Christian ministry established in 1933. Navigators are people who love Jesus Christ and desire to help others know and grow in Him as they “navigate” through life. Our slogan, “To Know Christ and To Make Him Known®,” aptly describes what Navigators do. As we befriend those who don’t know Jesus or those just starting out in their relationship with Him, we show them how to grow, and how to help others grow, too.
Our mission is based on the Bible, God’s Word. Desiring to fulfill 2 Timothy 2:2, Navigators seek to forward the grace and teachings of Christ from one believer to the next—what we call “generational multiplication.” And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others (2 Timothy 2:2, NIV).
Today, the Navigator staff family—4,600 strong—includes 70 nationalities, 130 languages, and numerous heritages and life experiences. The Navigator family also includes those who work alongside and support our staff, whose hearts beat with the passion of our motto, “to Know Christ and to Make Him Known®.”

What does a typical week look like?
All students are part of a three- or four-person team with whom they live and meet for Bible study each week.
The weekly commitments involve:
How do I raise support?
After applying to the program and being accepted, each student will receive a "Welcome Packet" which includes the information needed to raise support for the summer. We will provide you with sample letters, donor cards, and everything necessary to help you raise support. We view support-raising as an opportunity to ask people to join with us in advancing God's kingdom. You are not required to raise support to attend the program and can choose to pay the tuition though we don't recommend it. Having a team of financial supporters also nets you a team of prayer partners who are committed to bringing you before God on a regular basis. Plus, if your tuition is paid for by financial partners you can take home whatever money you make working at Silver Dollar City. Because Unbound STP is like a mission trip and Bible training school wrapped into one summer experienc. Those who give financially consider it an opportunity to invest in your spiritual heritage.
The tuition for this amazing experience is $2,800. This covers unparalleled training in Christ-likeness, evangelism and Bible study materials, housing, and a weekly food stipend, along administrative expenses, weekly group bonding activities, and meeting space rental fees. The tuition will over every expense a student will have while at Unbound STP. Costs outside of the normal program, like travel, are on their own.
Most people raise support through the financial gifts of family, friends, and local churches. Nearly everyone who does this receives the full amount. Because Unbound STP is like a mission trip and Bible training school wrapped into one summer experienc, those who give financially consider it an opportunity to invest in your spiritual heritage. Fundraising training is provided upon acceptance into Unbound 2021.
There is an option to pay the tuition outright instead of fundraising for it. The tuition cost will be the same regardless of how a student pays. Please email the director with any other tuition related questions at [email protected].
Where do I stay?
Students will live in apartments owned by Silver Dollar City, within a 5 minute walk to the amusement park property. Rooms are comprised of 3-4 students (these students also are all on the same team for summer-long training). The rooms are equipped with twin bunk beds so that each student has their own bed.
What is the setup for meals?
For meals, students are given money each week that is direct deposited into the bank accounts that they register through Workday (online service used by The Navigators for HR purposes). These can be used at nearby grocery stores, restaurants, and at Silver Dollar City. While on work shifts, there is a dining area for employees that provides a very affordable meal. In each apartment there is a full sized refrigerator, electric oven with four burner range, a microwave, and a basic assortment of cooking pans and appliances. There is some basic training in preparing food, creating meal guides, and living off a weekly budget.
What schools will be at Unbound?
All campuses within the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa that have a Navigators campus ministry will be invited to Unbound.
